Heidelberg Materials Benelux is currently seeking a Head of Industrial Relations to join the team at our headquarters located in Braine-l’Alleud.


Your tasks & responsibilities:

  • The Head of Industrial Relations is responsible for leading and managing positive employee & unions relations within the organization. You will play a crucial role in the social dialogue by handling labor disputes and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • You define, implement and maintain a centralized and coordinated industrial relations strategy, in line with the business needs and the HR roadmap.
  • You manage relationships with unions, and you ensure that the company's treatment of employees is consistent with its core business values and objectives.
  • You handle complaints, managing grievance procedures, and facilitating counseling in conjunction with other stakeholders.
  • You oversee all collective labor agreements, from negotiation till registration.
  • You enhance implementation of the CLA’s through structured and transparent communication with payroll and the other HR departments.
  • You investigate and resolve complex or critical industrial relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • You represent the company in sector associations, and you actively defend its priorities and interests.
  • You assure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • You offer support to the business and to the HRBP in social / labor law matters.
  • You oversee the legal updates and validation of all formal documents (work regulations, labor contract, etc.)

Job requirements

Your profile:

  • You have prior experience in employee relations or industrial relations.
  • You have strong experience in dealing with unions.
  • You possess a strong knowledge of HR policies & procedures.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of Belgian employment legislation.
  • You have persuasive communication, problem-solving, negotiation & influencing skills.
  • You are bilingual French/Dutch, and you have a good knowledge of English.
